As we enter December, the summer of cricket is officially upon us. In the household of John Kalachian, one of the partners of Fortis Accounting, this means weekends are taken up with hours of watching, scoring and training for cricket. You see, John’s eldest daughter Sonya (16) and Son Joseph (14) are cricketers. They play in the same cricket team on Saturday Mornings and Sonya plays all day on Sundays in the NSW Women’s Premier Cricket Competition.
Whilst Sonya plays for the most part in the under 18’s competition, she recently debuted for 2nd Grade where she was 2 not out batting and followed up with bowling figures of 2 Overs, 2 wickets for 5 runs. For those non-cricket enthusiasts, that’s a pretty good result.
But a great achievement on Sunday was that Sonya scored her first century in women’s premier cricket. An astounding 101 from 81 balls. We are so proud of Sonya for the dedication she shows, how she trains and the results she achieves. We hope this is the start of many more centuries and achievements for you.
John also wanted to mention that he plays indoor cricket for fun with a local team of dads and they have recently won 2 games in a row….woo hoo.
I think we’ll leave the cricket to Sonya and Joseph and the tax to John.
